Varaždin County (former)

County Varazdin ( Vármegye Varasd Hungarian, Croatian Varaždinska županija ) was a historic administrative unit ( county, or county) in the Kingdom of Croatia and Slavonia (Hungarian Horvát - Szlavónország ), an autonomous kingdom under the Crown of St. Stephen within the Habsburg Monarchy. It was managed by a Croatian Ban ( viceroy ).

The county seat was in Varasd ( German Varazdin, Varazdin Croatian ). The county included an area of 2,507 km ². The 1910 census, according to the county had 307 010 inhabitants.

In today's Croatia are in the same field about the Varaždin counties and Krapina -Zagorje.
