Varnhagen

Varnhagen, Varnhagen von Ense is a letter Westphalian noble family which is called Varnhagen von Ense from the Ministerialengeschlecht emerged; eponymous headquarters in Werl, Westphalia; Ministeriales of the Counts of Arnsberg.

Daughters descendants

Since the genealogy of Varnhagenschen total family dates back to the 16th century, even the daughters of progeny is spread accordingly. In this context, it is worth stressing the interdependence of Varnhagen in the female line. Johann Adolph Varnhagen (* 1645) was mayor and a PhD doctor in Altena. His daughter Anna Maria Varnhagen was married to Eberhard Schmidt from Altena, whose mother was probably born a Varnhagen from Iserlohn. Their son was Johann Adolf Schmidt, who after the early death of his father to his uncle, the pharmacist Johann Moritz Varnhagen (* 1687 ), was sent to learn the " art pharmacist ".
