VÃ¥rsta

Vårsta is a locality ( tätort ) in the Swedish municipality of Botkyrka in the historical province of Södermanland. The settlement lies north of a lake ( Malmsjön ) and has about 2,400 inhabitants.

Vårsta emerged in the 1950s as a remote place with houses. Over the years a number of terraced houses and apartment buildings were added. Furthermore, a supply center with supermarket, restaurants and other small businesses was built. The town has a modern wooden church and a school for the elementary, middle and high school. Some high school students also commute to nearby Tumba.
