Vashti Bunyan

Vashti Bunyan ( born 1945 in London) is an English folk singer.

Life

Vashti Bunyan first studied art, but left the Academy in order to pursue a career as a singer. Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham - they wanted to build in place of Marianne Faithfull, they failed. They eventually moved more in folk circles in the environment of the Incredible String Band.

The late 1960s to Bunyan went on a trip to the Outer Hebrides, where she lived in a farmhouse with her husband. Back in London, she recorded her first album, Just Another Diamond Day, on. The album was unsuccessful, and Bunyan returned to the music business back.

End of the 1990s the rarity Just Another Diamond Day was re-released to the surprise of the artist. After a musical break of over 30 years Bunyan appeared as a guest singer in various independent projects in appearance: Piano Magic, Devendra Banhart and Animal Collective. So she took the last band for the first time after 30 years of an EP Prospect Hummer ( 2004). This meant that it was taken from FatCat Records and after 35 years released her second album in 2005, Lookaftering.

The 1966 received by Bunyan Train Song came in 2008 to greater prominence when Reebok took it as part of an advert for football clothing. In 2011, the Train song was used again in a commercial by Samsung.
