Vasilis Konstantinou

Vasilios Konstantinou (Greek Βασίλης Κωνσταντίνου, * 1947 ) is a former Greek football goalkeeper.

Playing career

Konstantinou began his career as a youth player of Panathinaikos Athens. 1964 as a 17- year-old he was included in the squad for the first team and then was reserve goalkeeper behind Panagiotis Ikonomopoulos by the year 1974. From then on Konstantinou was goalkeeper of the Greens. He held this position until the change to OFI Crete in 1983. During his time at Panathinaikos he won five times, the Greek Championship and the Greek Cup four times. He stayed only one year in Crete and finished his career in 1984.

International Konstantinou played 28 times for the Greek national team. He participated in the European Football Championship in 1980 partly in Italy and retired with the team as a group Last in the preliminaries of. He stood at two games on the court.
