Vasily Filippov

Vasily Filippov Viktorovich (Russian Василий Викторович Филиппов; born January 18, 1981 in Moscow, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union ) is a former Russian handball player.

The 1.83 meter tall and 87 kilogram medium-sized backcourt players started at the club Kunzewo Moscow with the handball and stood at Medwedi Chekhov since its foundation in 2001 under contract. With this club he was from 2002 to 2013 twelve times champion of Russia and played in the seasons 2000/2001 to 2012/ 2013 EHF Champions League 2005/2006 in the European Cup winners. After the 2012/13 season, he finished his career.

In 2004 he was World Champion students with the Russian team. Vasily Filippov scored in 101 appearances for the Russian national team 227 goals (as of January 2012) and played at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, at the 2009 World Championships, the European Championships in 2010 and 2012.

Filippov graduated in 2004 graduated from the Russian State University of Physical Culture. He is married and has one child.
