Vassily Solomin

Vasily Solomin Anatoljevich (Russian Василий Анатольевич Соломин; born January 5, 1953 in Perm, † 28 December 1997) in Perm was a Russian amateur boxer.

Career

Solomin began in 1969 with the boxes and played in his sporting career 194 fights of which he won 186. He celebrated his first international success in 1972 when he won the European Junior Bantamweight Championship in Bucharest.

For the first time in Havana discharged in 1974 Amateur World Championships, he won the lightweight class. He suggested, among other things, the two German representatives, Jochen Bachfeld from the GDR and Peter Hess from the Federal Republic of Germany.

In 1976 he participated in the Olympic Games in Montreal in part and won a bronze medal there, he failed in the semifinals of the Romanians Simion Cuţov. National championship is Solomin was able to prevail four times: 1974, 1976, 1977, 1979, he became Soviet champions.

After the end of his active career, he worked among other things as a judge at the Russian Profiboxverband.
