Vaterländischer Künstlerverein

Under the title Patriotic Association of Artists was published in 1823 and 1824 in Vienna a two-volume collection of variations on a waltz by Anton Diabelli. Volume 1 consisted of the 33 submitted by Ludwig van Beethoven variations, please see Diabelli Variations (Beethoven). Volume 2 included the variations of 50 other composers who came from Austria or worked there, and a coda of Carl Czerny. 1819 was sent to numerous " patriotic " Musicians Diabelli letter of invitation; the two volumes were moved finally in his music publishing Cappi & Diabelli.
