Vatroslav Mimica

Vatroslav Mimica ( born June 25, 1923 in Omis ) is a Yugoslavian director, screenwriter and playwright.

Life and work

Mimica studied until the outbreak of the Second World War medicine at the University of Zagreb. With the outbreak of war he joined the People's Liberation Army (Yugoslavia) and was a member of the communist youth organization of the Communist Party of Yugoslavia. After the war he became in 1950 director of Jadran Film Studios. The first films were animated films, attacked later films on historical subjects.
