Vātsyāyana

Vatsyayana Mallanaga ( AD 250 to AD) is the putative author of the Indian written in the former language of the learned Sanskrit Kamasutra. About the author's life is nothing else known.

Davadatte Shastri (1912-1982), who published in 1964 a review in Hindi on the Kama Sutra, Vatsyayana collected material about Mallanagas identity. To a release, it did not come as a result of his death.
