Vätteryd

At the beginning of the 19th century there were on one of the largest cemeteries in Scandinavia still about 600 stones, now missing a third. Similarly, the cemeteries of Hjortahammar, Li and Lindholm Hoje, with whom it has some parallels Vätteryd is a burial ground on which hardly stands out one of the stone circles. There are 15 more or less well-preserved ship subsidence, and one each quadrilateral ( with pole traces of superstructure ) and triangle reduction, while counties are missing.

Between 1955 and 1957 the cemetery was excavated. The burials were mainly cremations. The rich grave goods ( bronze and glass beads, bronze, spindle whorls, pottery, but also silver wire and silver bands) are kept in the Museum of Stockholm.
