The Vattikuti Urology Institute of the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit (Michigan ), United States is a urological clinic and a research institute in the field of urology.
Importance
The VUI is known for the use of robot-assisted prostatectomy as standard treatment for prostate cancer. Based on the current state (2011) has performed more than 5000 robotic-assisted prostate surgery, the VUI. VUI is one of the largest clinics of urology in the United States with nearly 50,000 patients from 25 countries a year. Director of the VUI is Mani Menon.

VUI is a center for robot-assisted prostate surgery and other minimally invasive robot-assisted surgery in urology. This allows for minimal invasiveness, more precision, shorter hospital stays and faster recovery. Among the surgical procedures that are introduced with the Da Vinci system include the force developed by Mani Menon VIP prostatectomy ( Vattikuti Institute prostatectomy), partial and radical nephrectomy and pyeloplasty.

Research and Science
The VUI is a center for research and science, as well as for specialist training of doctors. Since 2004, the Institute organized an annual symposium IRUS International Robotic Urology Symposium.
