Vaughan Lewis

Vaughan Lewis ( born 1940 ) is a politician from Saint Lucia and was prime minister of the country.

Lewis is a former member of the United Workers' Party. With the resignation of John Compton, he was for a short time Prime Minister on 2 April 1996 until the elections on 23 May 1997. In the election his party suffered a major setback. when they lost all but one seat in parliament. He subsequently went back for the leader of the Saint Lucia Labour Party, Kenneth Anthony. Lewis also served as Minister of Finance, Development Minister and Foreign Minister.

His father was Sir Allen Montgomery Lewis, St. Lucia's first Governor-General of sovereignty on 22 February 1979.
