Vaux- sur -Morges is a municipality in the district of Morges in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland.

Geography

Vaux- sur -Morges is located at 504 m above sea level. M., 3.5 km north-west of the district capital Morges ( straight line ). The village is located on a plateau above the valley of the Morges, in the Vaud Mittelland, a scenic location about 130 m above the lake level of Lake Geneva.

The area of ​​2.1 km ² large municipality area includes a portion of the plateau in the hinterland of Morges. The southern boundary is formed by the winding course of the river Morges in a 50 m deep wooded valley. With 175 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) Vaux- sur -Morges is one of the small communities of the Canton of Vaud. Of the residents 88.0% are French, 7.0 % English speaking and 3.2 % in German (as of 2000). The population of Vaux- sur -Morges amounted in 1900 to 129 inhabitants. After the population had decreased to 85 to 1980 inhabitants, a significant population increase was observed with a doubling of the population in the last 20 years.

Economy

Vaux- sur -Morges was until the second half of the 20th century, mainly coined by farming village. History
