VEB Polytechnik

The VEB Polytechnic was a state-owned enterprise in Karl- Marx-Stadt, now Chemnitz. In the GDR, the operation was mainly for the manufacture of overhead transparency projectors, called overhead projectors, as well as Student Experiment devices ( SÜG Electrical III, SEG -HH ) known to physics education.

The company was founded in 1870 under the name of drawing instruments judges and established writing accessories. 1874 invented the founder Emil Oskar judge the zero circle. In the late 1960s, the operating oriented after the takeover of Phylatex physics equipment factory in Frankenberg / Sa. under the name VEB Polytechnic its production focus on overhead projectors. After the German reunification, the remnants of the company were transferred to the Polytechnic Frankenberg GmbH.

VEB also provided the Polyplay, the only arcade machines, which was produced in the GDR ago.

2006, the company Polytechnic Frankenberg was closed.
