Vecima Networks is a Canadian company headquartered in Victoria, British Columbia, which acts as a supplier of telecommunications companies. The company employs 612 people and has a production plant in Saskatoon in Saskatchewan, as well as additional offices in the U.S. and India.

History

The company was founded in 1988 in Saskatoon by Surinder Kumar under the former name of Wavecom Electronics Inc.. Two years later modulators have been put on the market for the expansion of cable television. Mid-1990s, a research center was opened in Victoria, dealing with microwaves. After Victoria also the headquarters of the company was laid in 1998. In 2003 the company was renamed VCom. 2005 took the company public on the Toronto Stock Exchange, where it was listed under the symbol VCM. In 2006 it received its present name Vecima Networks Inc..

Product portfolio

The company offers products for two applications: the broadband cable products include Switched Digital Video (SDV ), video -on-demand (VOD ), network cameras, DOCSIS 3.0, digital simulcast and digital video. Broadband Wireless includes products for wireless broadband services.
