Vector develops software tools and components for networking in electronic systems based on the serial bus systems CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet and MOST as well as CAN-based protocols such as SAE J1939, CANopen, ARINC 825 and other. The headquarters of the company 's Vector computer science GmbH in Stuttgart. For Vector computer science in addition to offices in Brunswick, Hamburg, Munich, Regensburg and its foreign subsidiaries in USA, Japan, France, Sweden, England, Korea, China and India are also the Vector Consulting Services GmbH, a consulting company for the optimization of technical product development. These are referred to in total as Vector Group. In the market, but Vector is almost invariably known as Vector computer science.

In concept Vector Group is important to note that companies exist in completely different industries named Vector.

History

The Vector Software GmbH was founded on April 1, 1988 by Eberhard Hinderer, Martin Litschel and Helmut Schelling. Martin Litschel and Helmut Schelling had previously participated already at Bosch in the development of the CAN bus. In 1992 the company changed its name to Vector computer science GmbH, the same year the first CANoe license was sold and the first time one million euro sales generated. In 1996, the first CANoe and canape licenses were sold.

1998 Vector CANtech (USA ) founded the following year Vector Japan. 2001, the subsidiary Vector Consulting GmbH was founded, provides advice on the technical developments and their cost-effectiveness. Vector computer science in 2006 acquired the " Division 4m Software" Micron Electronic Devices AG. In the same year, sales of the Vector Group exceeded broke through the 100 million euro mark. 2007 Vector Korea was founded in 2009 then followed Vector Great Britain, India Vector computer science and Vector China. 2011, the existing to date Chinese representative office was transferred to a legally independent company. In August 2011, the four owners gave the Vector computer science GmbH in the hands of a family trust and a charitable foundation. In addition, the thousandth employee was welcomed.

Fields of activity

As mentioned above, vector treated networking in electronic systems based on the serial bus systems CAN, LIN, FlexRay and MOST and CAN -based protocols such as SAE J1939, CANopen and others. These control devices are in the car, the clear focus. The experience gained here are also used in other fields such as aeronautics, commercial vehicles, special vehicles, special purpose machines ranging in general embedded systems. A selection of technical articles provides further background on this:

  • Integration of virtual hardware prototypes in CANoe at the Fraunhofer Institute IIS
  • Diagnostic validation with GM
  • AUTOSAR PDUs with FlexRay at Audi
  • Driver assistance systems optimize at BMW
  • XCP on FlexRay at Audi
  • Wireless connection of design and analysis tools in the Bomag AG
  • Integrated diagnostic and flash solution for the LuK GmbH
  • Car2X communication

Products

Some of the key products are

  • The analysis tool CANoe for CAN, FlexRay, Ethernet, LIN, etc.
  • The development tool CANoe with support for simulation, diagnosis and as a testing tool for car ECUs. Use with most car and truck OEMs and suppliers
  • Embedded Software Components for CAN, FlexRay, LIN, CANopen, etc. These components are part of the world almost all cars with networked electronics.
  • The software canape for calibration of control devices support multiple protocols ( CCP, XCP, ...) and bus systems (CAN, FlexRay, ...).
