Vehicle registration plates of Canada

The license plates in Canada are awarded by the individual provinces or territories. They usually contain at the top the name of the province or territory, usually at the bottom of a self-chosen motto of the province.

The remaining part is numbered separately for the province or territory. It also gives the opportunity to apply for any fancy label as a license plate (eg IMA FOOL or MY FRIEND ). In some provinces (eg, Quebec or Nova Scotia ) carry vehicles only on the rear side of the flag.
