Vehicle registration plates of East Timor

The license plate of East Timor are similar in design to those of Australia and also use similar fonts.

Various types of

The current design has been used since the year 2002, when the country's independence was restored. The East Timorese flag consist of five digits ( the first two digits separated by a small diamond) and in small letters below the letter TLS, the abbreviation of Timor Loro Sa'e, the country name at Tetum and country codes according to ISO 3166. Official vehicles cause behind the five digits are still a G for governu ( German government). Portuguese Timor

By 1975, the country was as Portuguese Timor, a Portuguese colony. We used the Portuguese style used since 1937 with white characters on a black background.
