Vehicle registration plates of Ghana

Ghanaian license plates are white with black lettering. Features of commercial vehicles have a yellow background.

Construction

The Ghanaian motor vehicle registration existed until 2008 of an abbreviation for the region, one to four digit number and a letter, which marked the year of approval.

As of 2009, the letter for the registration year is missing. In its place came a dash and a two-digit number that indicates the last two digits of the year of approval, eg GR 3262-10 ( approved in 2010).

The upper right is the national flag of Ghana and among the distinguishing sign of GH.
