Vehicle registration plates of Syria

The Syrian license plates since 1997 have a black inscription on a white background. The signs are divided into four. On the left panel can be found under the name of the government in Arabic script the actual registration consisting of a maximum of six digits. This is followed in the second field, the superimposed letters SYR as an abbreviation for the name of the country. In the third part of the shield, the letters appear in Arabic script and the fourth field is repeated registration in Arabic numerals. There are also output labels in the U.S. format. Plates for vehicles that are otherwise used commercially for transporting people or showing a red label.
