Veikko Karppinen

Veikko Karppinen ( born January 30, 1986 in Kajaani ) is a Finnish professional ice hockey player who is since 2011 in Hokki Kajaani in the Mestis under contract.

Career

Veikko Karppinen began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of Hokki Kajaani, for the first team he made his debut in the Mestis, the Finnish second division was in season 2003/ 04. He then moved to the U20 Junior Kärpät of Oulu, for the first team he first played in the 2006/07 season in the SM- liiga. In his first season at Kärpät he was with the team Finnish Champion. In 38 games Karppinen had four points, including two goals are scored. In the following season, the attacker got more ice age and prepared five goals in 48 games before. In addition, he was allowed to play in the playoffs, where he point - and impunity remained in two games and was with Kärpät for the second consecutive champion for the first time. In the 2008 /09 season Karppinen stood in all four group matches Kärpäts in the Champions Hockey League and was on the ice with his team in the SM- liiga vice-champion.

For the 2011/12 season Karppinen returned permanently to his home club Hokki Kajaani in the Mestis back, having already occasionally aground as Players out on loan for the team in previous years.
