The Veitshoechheim station is a regional railway station at kilometer 7.0 of the Main-Spessart -Bahn from Würzburg to Aschaffenburg. It was created during construction of the Louis - West Railway, which was taken on October 1, 1854 fully operational.

The station was initially built the prince-bishops of Würzburg, and later the kings of Bavaria, in Veitshoechheim near Würzburg in close proximity to the castle Veitshoechheim, a summer residence. Particularly well known is the palace complex for the surrounding Rococo Garden.

In the 19th century, this public park even then barely escaped destruction by the construction. Engineers had identified as optimal routing for the railway to be applied, the central avenue of the park. This idea was prevented by the veto but I. King Ludwig, the one - ordered route east to the courtyard garden - albeit somewhat less topographically.

There then came the Veithichheim Train to lie. He received a particularly representative reception building designed as a seaside resort, this should be the functions of justice as an excursion train station for the Würzburg to the park and as a station for the Royal Castle. The public station building was designed to be larger than it was reasonable for the former village Veitshoechheim. In addition to the public reception building a Royal Pavilion was built directly on the main axis of the castle. This was connected to the reception building with a colonnade. The Royal Pavilion is now used by the municipal library in the station and the youth center of the municipality Veitshoechheim.

Between 2004 and 2005, the platform facilities at the station underwent a comprehensive modernization. For a total of 3.2 million euros, two new outdoor platforms were built, prefabricated, which were shifted by a length of the platform towards Würzburg. As a platform access a new underpass was built. House - and middle platform could be canceled after the commissioning of new platforms in July 2005.
