Veleslavín

Veleslavín ( German Weleslawin ) is a district of Prague.

The village immersed in the annals for the first time under Boleslav II on who gave it to the monastery Břevnov. At the request of Maria Theresa, a small castle was built in the village, which was designed by Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer. This castle was chosen by the Prussian King Friedrich during the siege of Prague to his command center.

Weleslawin that had arisen from the villages Altweleslawin ( Stary Veleslavín ) and New Weleslawin ( Nový Veleslavín ), was the former Metropolitan District Prague XIX.

In 1991, the city had 6032 inhabitants. In 2001 Veleslavín consisted of 420 houses, where 6137 people lived.
