Velleron is a commune with 2908 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Vaucluse and the Provence- Alpes- Côte d' Azur.

Velleron between Pernes- les -Fontaines and L' Isle- sur -la -Sorgue in the center of the agricultural plain of Comtat venaissin.

1174 belonged to the church of Saint -Michel in the Mensalgut the Abbey Saint- Eusèbe de Saignon and existed under the name Notre- Dame de Nazareth. In the thirteenth century it was of Astouaud, the ruler there, expanded resort to the fortress church. Through marriage, she went to the family Crillon, which could be buried there, then to the family Cambis who built a chapel. The nave was given a ribbed cross vault in the fourteenth century. The present facade dates from the eighteenth century. Since 11 March 2004, the church is a monument historique.

The Chapel of the Grey Penitents or chapelle de la Croix is dated to 1681.
