Vendel

Vendel (Swedish Vendel socks ) is a parish (socks) in the north of the historical Swedish province of Uppland. Near the Vendel kyrka boat graves were found from the early Middle Ages. After Vendel the entire period 550-800 was named in Swedish archeology as Vendelzeit.

Not far from the boat graves is the Ottarshügel containing a grave that is believed to be dated to the late migration period.
