Vendone

Vendone ( in Ligurian: Vendùn ) is a municipality with 401 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012) in the Italian region of Liguria. Politically it belongs to the province of Savona.

Geography

Vendone is located in the Valle Arroscia, on the left bank of the river Arroscia. North of the village rises the 1092 meters high mountain Castell'Ermo. The two associated settlements Leuso and Curenna located in the left Talhälfte the Rio Paraone, the settlement Castellaro however, lies in the valley of the Rio Merce. Vendone belongs to the Comunità Montana Ingauna and is approximately 58 km from the provincial capital Savona.

According to the Italian classifications for seismic activity, the community of Zone 3 was assigned. This means that Vendone is in a seismically active zone little.

Climate

The municipality is classified under climate category E, since the number of degree days has a value of 2252. This means that in Italy legally regulated heating season is between October 15 and April 15, for 14 hours each day.
