Venice Film Festival

The International Venice Film Festival (Italian Mostra internazionale d' arte cinematografica di Venezia ) are held every year in late August / early September on the Lido in Venice from 6 August 1932. They are the oldest existing film festival in the world and are today - together with the Cannes Film Festival and the Berlin International Film Festival - the three most important international film festivals. They are part of the Biennale of Contemporary Art.

History and competition

The main prizes for the best films were awarded in the 1934 to 1942 after his early Italian dictator named Coppa Mussolini. The award in each case was the best Italian and best foreign film.
