Venice Marathon

The Venice Marathon (official name Venice Marathon ) is held in Venice since 1986, since 1987 in October. He is among the three largest marathons in Italy.

The course is a point - to-point course, which leads from the Villa Pisani in Stra to Venice center. First, it goes to the Riviera del Brenta River through the towns of Fiesso d' Artico, Dolo and Mira to the Villa Foscari, then lying on the mainland Venetian neighborhoods Marghera and Mestre, Parco San Giuliano and over the Ponte della Libertà on the main island Venice. The last part of the route along the Canale della Giudecca along, crossed at the Punta della Dogana, the Grand Canal on a pontoon bridge, which is built specially for this run, passing the Piazza San Marco and the Doge's Palace and ends at the Riva Sette Martyrs.
