Ventforet Kofu

Ventforet Kofu ( jap :ヴァン フォーレ 甲府; Vanfōre Kōfu ) is a Japanese professional football club, playing in the J. League Division 2.

The name is a construct from the French words "vent " (wind) and " fôret " (forest ) and is derived from the quotation Fūrinkazan (风 林 火山) from Sun Tzu's The Art of War from. It means " Be swift as the wind, compact as the grove, attack them, wild as a fire, and defending steadfast as a mountain. " This graced the Sengoku period, the battle flags of the Daimyo Takeda Shingen resident.

History

Founding and establishment (1965-2001)

The club from Kofu, the capital of Yamanashi Prefecture near Tokyo was established in 1965 under the name Kofu Soccer Club on the initiative of former members of a high school football team in the then Japan with the help of players from other high schools wanted Soccer League ascend. The team reached the JSL in 1972 and remained in it until its dissolution 20 years later.
