Ventricular flutter
Ventricular flutter is the rapid succession of relatively regular ventricle actions at a frequency of 200 to 350/min. By location outside of the sinus node structures repolarization disturbances ( heterotopic ) are triggered. The transition to ventricular fibrillation is fluid. It is during ventricular flutter a medical emergency.
Therapy
In patients with a palpable pulse and without loss of consciousness drug dose intravenous amiodarone (evidence backed up) or if amiodarone is not available, lidocaine ( no evidence). When Adams -Stokes syndrome immediate resuscitation and defibrillation.
