Venus (Florida)

Venus is an unincorporated community in southeastern Highlands County in the U.S. state of Florida. It is located on County Road 731, which branches off from U.S. Highway 27.

Main economic activities in Venus include the cultivation of citrus fruits and livestock. In the town also has a volunteer fire department is established. In addition, the municipality has achieved the Camp Mars, one of the few campsites for gays and lesbians in the United States. Personalities

Venus is the hometown of the author and social designer Jacque Fresco, founder of The Venus Project, whose name was derived from this very place.
