Veolia Transport Saxony- Anhalt GmbH is a railway company that provides transport services in passenger transport of the North Harz network since December 2005 under the name HEX (Harz Elbe Express).

History

On 1 July 2004, the Connex Saxony -Anhalt GmbH was founded with headquarters in Halberstadt, after the Connex Regiobahn previously transferred in March by the Land Sachsen -Anhalt, the local rail services " Nordharz network ". On 11 December 2005, the operation of the same resin- Express has been added and this was followed in 2006, the takeover of the bus operation " Klesener " which traveled henceforth under the brand " SalzlandBus ". Also in 2006, the company, the renaming of the parent company was following, renamed from Connex Sachsen-Anhalt GmbH in Veolia Transport Saxony-Anhalt GmbH.

1 April 2008 was added the route KBS 525 Leipzig- Geithain, which was adopted following a call from the Connex Saxony. In December 2008, the management went to the newly founded German means Regiobahn, a brand of Veolia Transport Region East over. In February 2009, the sale of the bus operation followed.

Incidents

On January 29, 2011, the train wreck of Hordorf occurred with ten dead on the railway line Magdeburg- Thale, in which in Hordorf a freight train and a commuter train collided HEX.

Current operating

This network includes 11 percent of the total rail transport in Saxony- Anhalt.

Resin -Berlin- Express ( HBX )

Furthermore, extending the Veolia Transport Saxony- Anhalt GmbH ( VVSA ) at the weekend under the name Harz -Berlin- Express for day trippers and weekend commuters some trains to and from Berlin, these compounds are used as HBX (abbreviated in the official DB timetable media, however, are also the trains to and from Berlin - like all other regional train VVSA - as train type HEX called ). At present, a total of six trips are offered weekly, three each in Berlin ( Friday evening, Saturday evening and Sunday evenings ) and three in the direction of resin ( Saturday morning, Sunday morning and Sunday evening). It starts in each case a tensile member in Vienenburg and a second tension member in Thale Hbf; in Halberstadt, the two train parts are combined together and walk together over Oschersleben, Magdeburg, Genthin and Potsdam to Berlin - the end point of the train Berlin Ostbahnhof ( more intermediate stops in Berlin Wannsee, Zoo, Hauptbahnhof, Friedrichstrasse and Alexanderplatz). In the opposite direction the train in Halberstadt is divided accordingly. Vehicle park
