Veolia Transport GmbH (until 2006 Connex Transport GmbH ), headquartered in Berlin is the largest active in Germany private rail and bus companies. Veolia Transport is a subsidiary of Transdev Group, which traded until March 2013 as Veolia Transdev.

History

Since the majority takeover of the private railway company German Railway Company (DEG ) 1997, the Veolia group was in the German transport and active transport. After the complete takeover of DEG in 2000 they founded the company Connex. In the following years Connex offered regional, urban and freight transport in Germany. On 1 January 2004 the company was reorganized; the place of Connex Connex Regiobahn and city traffic were new regional divisions (North- West, South - West, South and East ( and originally also North ) ).

Designed to industrial customers freight business was concentrated in the Veolia Cargo Germany and was sold to SNCF in 2009; it has since been trading under the name Captrain Germany.

With the completed in March 2011 merger of Veolia Transport with Transdev Veolia Transdev the former, the German business activities Transdev came to Veolia Transport. Following the integration of Transdev, the company was reorganized into two business areas: rail and bus.
