Verbosus

Verbosus is a browser-based LaTeX and Octave Editor, which allows you to produce LaTeX projects online and manage. The graphical user interface is not modeled on existing, non- browser-based LaTeX programs, as it is designed to work in a browser and to be used.

Verbosus requires no installation of any LaTeX or Octave programs such as TeX Miktex, TeX Live, Octave / Matlab or similar.

As in various other tools ( TeXworks, etc.), a PDF viewer is integrated, which makes it possible to generate from the LaTeX code a. Pdf file and to display directly, as well as syntax highlighting for better readability of the LaTeX code and auto-completion. The connection of the browser to the server is protected by using the HTTPS protocol ( using the transport layer security ). So that encryption and authentication can be ensured.

Technology

The client side of Verbosus has been developed entirely in JavaScript. It uses the Dojo Toolkit for communicating with the server. The passages use of JavaScript -On-Demand allows the ( transparent to the user ) reloading of content without reloading the entire page again. Through the use of JavaScript to be no plug-ins (such as Adobe Flash Player, etc. ) is required.

Mobile platforms

Since version 2.5 there is a LaTeX editor for Android with the name VerbTeX responsive interfaces of verbosus.com to generate PDFs from the LaTeX code. Since version 3.4 Octave editor for Android exists with the name Anoc responsive interfaces of verbosus.com to calculate the result and generate plots.

Collaboration

Verbosus allows the simultaneous, collaborative (joint ) work on the same project by different users. Changes made by other users (similar to diff ) displayed in a built-in tool that can be adapted or discarded by the user when saving.
