The club sailors am Wannsee ( VSaW ) is a Berlin sailing club at the Wannsee. The tradition-rich club is the second oldest sailing club in Germany.

History

The club was founded on October 6, 1867, with 14 members and 8 boats on the river Havel. At this time it was after the sailing club Rhe the second in Germany. 1877, the Club moved to the Wannsee. 1881, the first clubhouse was built.

As the club grew and even Crown Prince Wilhelm sailed on Havel and Wannsee with its special class yacht Angela, was founded in 1910, the new, larger clubhouse, which was just as Cecilienhof built in rural British Tudor style, opened.

The VSaW has long been one of the four German yacht clubs that are involved in the organization of the Kieler Woche.
