The club sailors am Wannsee ( VSaW ) is a Berlin sailing club at the Wannsee. The tradition-rich club is the second oldest sailing club in Germany.
History
The club was founded on October 6, 1867, with 14 members and 8 boats on the river Havel. At this time it was after the sailing club Rhe the second in Germany. 1877, the Club moved to the Wannsee. 1881, the first clubhouse was built.
As the club grew and even Crown Prince Wilhelm sailed on Havel and Wannsee with its special class yacht Angela, was founded in 1910, the new, larger clubhouse, which was just as Cecilienhof built in rural British Tudor style, opened.
As early as 1907 had Otto limbers from VSaW with the designed by Max Oertz Wannsee Yacht Kaiser Wilhelm Cup to the regatta had special classes regattas against American boats won in Kiel. The donated by Kaiser Wilhelm II Kaiser Wilhelm Cup can be admired today in the clubhouse of VSaW.

Nicola Birkner won the European Youth Championships in the Optimist dinghy 1994. As of 1992, sailed with Birkner Wibke Bülle in 470 and took for Germany participated in several world championships. In 2000, the team competed at the Summer Olympics in Sydney and reached there in 5th place.
The VSaW has long been one of the four German yacht clubs that are involved in the organization of the Kieler Woche.
Today, the association has approximately 1,000 members, making it a major within the German Sailing Association. On the waters of VSaW each year are organized more than 10 major regattas, including at least one regatta to the German championship and the large Berlin Match Race.
