Verkhovyna

Verhovyna (Ukrainian Верховина - to 1962 Жаб'є / Schabje; Polish Żabie ) is an urban-type settlement in western Ukraine.

The 1424 first mentioned in written settlement is the center of Rajons same name and is located in the Hutsul -inhabited mountains, which is also known under the name Pokutien. The river then flows through Chorny Cheremosh the site east-west direction.

The settlement council municipality counts next to the settlement and the village Wiptsche ( Віпче ).
