The publisher Free Spirit Life was founded in 1947 by the Waldorf School in Stuttgart and the Anthroposophical Society in Stuttgart. Publisher Urachhaus

The publisher Urachhaus was founded on January 23, 1925 by Gertrude Spoerri, Emil Bock and Ernst Scheiffele as publisher of The Christian Community GmbH. The publisher initially published only Christian-oriented writings. It came in 1935 on the prohibition of the Anthroposophical Society, and in 1936 was followed by the renaming of the publisher after the Stuttgart Urachstraße, where was the publishing house. 1942 also followed the forced liquidation of the publisher after the Gestapo stormed the publishing building on 9 June 1941 and had owned the company including the entire book stock confiscated. After the merger, the two publishers moved to the new premises in the country road, not far from the Urachstraße. The publishing director was Frank Berger, however, had to stop because of health reasons. Jean -Claude Lin now heads both publishers.
