Verno

The Verno (Greek Βέρνο ) is a Greek mountain range located in the northern Greek region of Western Macedonia. The highest elevation of the Verno is the Vitsi with 2,128 m above sea level. The mountain range extends over some 25 km from southwest to northeast and about 30 km from the northwest to the southeast.

In the low altitudes of the mountain spruce and pine dominate. The higher elevations are characterized by valleys, bushland and secluded villages. In the southwest of Kastoria Lake is located on the western foothills of the flows Aliakmona which also drains the Verno.
