Vernon H. Vaughan

Vernon H. Vaughan (* 1838 in Alabama; † 1878 in Sacramento, California ) was an American politician ( Republican).

Vaughan was 1870-1871 Secretary of the Territory in the Utah Territory. Furthermore, by U.S. President Ulysses S. Grant appointed after the death of Territorial Governor John Shaffer as acting governor of the territory. He had hold office and then ran unsuccessfully for re-election an uneventful year. The Wooden Gun Rebellion was the only significant event during his tenure. The men, who were accused of having taken part in it were interrogated and then released.
