Veronika Hagen

Veronika Hagen -di Ronza ( born May 5, 1963 in Salzburg) is an Austrian violist. Since 2007 she is a university professor of viola at the Department of String Studies at the University Mozarteum.

Life

Veronika Hagen is the daughter of a principal violist and concertmaster of the Mozarteum Orchestra, Salzburg. The age of six she received lessons from her father. She studied with Helmut Zehetmair at the Mozarteum University and reached there a concert diploma. The concert exam she received at the Musikhochschule Hannover with Hatto Beyerle.

Along with her ​​brothers, Clemens Hagen, Lukas Hagen and Rainer Schmidt, they form the " Hagen Quartet ".

In 1984 she won the " International Viola Competition " in Budapest.

Married Veronika Hagen with bassist Roberto di Ronza. Together they have three children. In addition to her musical activities, she teaches as a university professor, in the viola, at the Mozarteum.

Veronika Hagen plays a Giovanni Paolo Maggini viola both from the collection of the Austrian National Bank, as well as on modern instruments from the workshop of Stefan -Peter Greiner.
