Véronique Marot

Veronique Marot ( Véronique Marot, born September 16, 1955 in Compiègne ) is a former English long-distance runner of French origin which was particularly successful in the marathon.

In 1984, she finished fourth in the London Marathon and second in the New York City Marathon. In 1985, she turned in fifth at the Chicago Marathon with 2:28:04 a British record.

In 1987, she was third in London and the Fourth Tokyo International Women's Marathon.

In 1989, she celebrated then their greatest triumph: She won the London Marathon and placed it on a British record with 2:25:56, the only Paula Radcliffe should break 13 years later.

Three times she won the Houston Marathon (1986, 1989, 1991 ). In 1991 and 1992 she won the Around the Bay Road Race. At their first victory she put it with 1:48:52 on the current British record in the 30 - km road race.

Véronique Marot has worked as a lawyer and still hobby runner. In 2003 she won the London Marathon the age group F45 in the time of 2:55:01 (total number 28 ).
