Milchuhu (Bubo lacteus )

The Milchuhu (Bubo lacteus ), also called Blassuhu, is widespread in Africa owl species. It occurs in so-called gallery forests, forest clearings and areas with thin wooded savannas.

It reaches a height 53-61 cm and has a distinctly rounded head. The upper plumage is reddish-brown.

His prey animals include guinea fowl, rock rats, hyraxes, hedgehogs, francolin, mice, snakes and bats.

The Milchuhu nests commonly found in the nests of birds of prey. It also notes the nests of the hammer head as a nesting site. Only occasionally it nests in tree hollows.

The breeding season falls in the African dry season, the nest consists of one to three eggs.
