Verscio

Verscio with church

Verscio was up on April 13, 2013 a municipality in the district Melezza, in the district of Locarno in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. On April 14, 2013 Verscio was merged with Tegna and Cavigliano the new community Terre di Pedemonte.

Geography

Verscio is located on the lower reaches of the Melezza, north of the river at the entrance to Cento Valli. Until the merger, the neighboring communities Cavigliano, Losone, Maggia and Tegna were. Verscio has 1091 inhabitants.

Policy

The mayor is Caverzasio Bruno (2008 ).
