Vertus
Vertus is a commune with 2472 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Marne, in the Champagne -Ardenne region.
Geography
Southern center of the " Côte des Blancs ", about 20 km south of Epernay, located on the main road Metz- Paris. Approx. 140 kms to Paris.
Viniculture
Vertus is an important wine-growing village of the Côte des Blancs, a part of the growing region for the base wine of champagne (see also Champagne ( wine region ) ). The vineyards of the community are as Premier Cru, ie as good, but not classified as prime locations. Dominated Like all along the Côte des Blancs in Blend Chardonnay. One sixth of the stock is omitted in Vertus attributable to Pinot Noir. Among the landowners in Vertus include the major Champagne houses Moët & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin and Roederer.
Economy
The Champagne Cellar Bourg is renowned for its classified as Premier Cru Blanc de Blancs Champagne - ( White Champagne made from 100% white grapes, Chardonnay ).

- Saint-Martin church, built between the end of the 11th century and the beginning of the 12th century, three crypts and engraved capitals.
- Puits Saint- Martin, at the foot of the church of St. Martin is located in an idyllic piece of water, fed by many sources on the swans and ducks like to rest.
