Vervezelle

Vervezelle is a commune of 137 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011) in the department of Vosges in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district of Saint- Dié -des-Vosges, founded the Canton Brouvelieures and on the 1998 Association of Municipalities Canton de Brouvelieures. 1.92 km ² Vervezelle is one of the five smallest 515 municipalities of the department of Vosges.

Geography

The agricultural community Vervezelle lies in the western foothills of the Vosges Mountains, about halfway between Saint- Dié and Epinal.

The center of the small Genmeindegebietes forms a basin of confluent streams here ( Ruisseau de Moxené, Ruisseau de l' Avison ) was created. To the north, the basin opens to drain the streams towards Mortagne. At the edges of the pelvis partially raise striking mountains, the 444 m high Haut de Belmont in the Northeast, the 502 m high Petit Avison in the south and a 517 m high secondary summit of Ponthaie in the West.

The heights around Vervezelle are forested, in and around the settlement, there is pasture and arable land before.

The settlement Vervezelle consists of hamlets that have grown together over the years, a distinct village does not exist. The houses of the hamlet Béthicourt, Rupt Jacqout and lingerie la Petite Avison grouped into loosely around two streets, which are X-shaped one another. In addition, there are several isolated farms scattered.

Neighboring communities of Vervezelle are Domfaing in the Northeast, Belmont- sur- Buttant in the east, Bruyeres in the southwest and Brouvelieures in the northwest.

The parish church of St. Lawrence ( Saint -Laurent ) was constructed for the three municipalities Domfaing, Belmont -sur- Buttant and Vervezelle on the Haut de Belmont. It is indeed in the municipality of Domfaing, but is Vervezelle the next.
