Vervins

Vervins is a commune with 2614 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Aisne in the Picardie region. It is the seat of the sub-prefecture of Vervins arrondissement, capital of Canton Vervins and member of the Association of Municipalities thiérache du Centre.

Geography

Vervins is next Hirson and Guise one of the main places in the landscape thiérache in the northeast of Picardy. The small town is situated on the Chertemps, a tributary of the Vilpion, about 45 kilometers east of Saint- Quentin and 37 kilometers northeast of Laon.
