Verzegnis

Verzegnis ( Friulian Verzegnis, locally Verzegnas ) is a municipality in the province of Udine in Friuli, Italy with 882 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012).

Geography

Verzegnis is one of 28 municipalities of Carnia. The municipality consists of the following four main towns:

  • Chiaicis ( Cjaiças )
  • Chiaulis ( Cjaulas / Cjauias ) ( sede Municipale )
  • Intissans ( Dintissjans )
  • Villa ( Vila ),

Also three smaller villages:

  • Santo Stefano (San Stiefin )
  • Riviasio ( Ruviâs )
  • Marzovallis ( Marzovalas ) - this last one was in the late 80s of the 20th century -

History
