VESA Display Power Management Signaling

Display Power Management Signaling (DPMS ) is a 2003 by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA ) specified method by which the graphics card of a computer can tell the connected thereto computer monitor when he "stand-by " in a power saving mode ( " Suspend " or "Power Off") should switch. To this end, both the graphics card and the monitor must support DPMS.
