Vesser (river)

The Vesser at its source

The Vesser is about 10.5 km long river in Thuringia.

The Vesserquelle is located at about 790 m below the hikers parking Divide and south-west of the Great Eisenberg (907 m) at Schmiedefeld. The Vesser flows south and is just 3 kilometers from the Suhl district Vesser. Below the village the Vessertal, which is a core zone of the biosphere reserve Vessertal - Thuringian forest begins. In Vessertal there is a unique, worth protecting flora. Below the Vessertales the river flows through the village of Breitenbach in which the Vesser, approximately in the center, runs into the same stream.
